You can read about my few days in Amsterdam here on my travels down to Kenya.

I spent one week in Kenya, which included some time in Nairobi and a few days on safari. I’ve split up what I did over the course of the week in three parts – Part 1 and Part 2 are my exploration of Nairobi and Part 3 is the safari.

Here are this I did over the course of a couple days in Ireland in 2 parts. You can read about Dublin in Part 1.

Day Trip: Giant’s Causeway and Belfast

We left quite early in the morning to drive through the countryside of Ireland into the north where the Giant’s Causeway was located. We had a couple stops along the way for coffee / washroom breaks as well as lunch.

One of the stops also included a fisherman’s bridge that spanned between a salmon river crossing. It previously was just a bridge with a single rope that fisherman would cross back and forth with their gear (and fish if any were caught). Being a tourist spot now, the bridge now has the roped handles along both sides of the wooden slates.

It was a beautiful walk from the parking lot to the bridge and such wonderful weather as well. While waiting to get on the bus, we also walked to the other side of the parking lot to check out where some filming happened for Game of Thrones.

After a short lunch break, we were taken to the Giant’s Causeway. We spent some time in the visitor’s centre before heading down the walk towards part of the Giant’s Causeway. Again, we lucked out the weather held out and it was pleasant walk in both directions. There was a bus taken people along the route for those that needed it.

There was signage indicating portions of the legend associated with the Giant’s Causeway. It pointed out some of the unique shaped rock formations that contributed to the legend. It was almost like an ‘I Spy’ game in trying to find these rock formations.

From the Giant’s Causeway, we then spent some time in Belfast. The tour guide pointed out some must-sees for us to do for time we had and that is what we did.

We returned to Dublin and spent some time in Temple Bar. The previous night was rainy so it was nicer weather and more active neighbourhood for us to walk around and grab a bite to eat before heading back to the hotel.
