I recently went to a discussion on Toronto History and why it’s trending.  It was held at the University of Toronto’s University College.  Three panelists – Maureen Jennings, Shawn Micallef, and Janet Schwartz – presented and hosted the discussion.  Each of the panelists provided a 10 minute presentation on how Toronto history has been incorporated into their work and lives.  Maureen Jennings is the author of the Murdoch mystery novels and contributes to the tv series as well.  Shawn Micallef explained his use of Twitter to incorporate a historical Toronto character, Mackenize, into modern Toronto.  Finally, Janet Schwartz took us through her involvement as Museum Coordinator at Mackenzie House.

It was a very interesting discussion to list to.  Questions were asked by many people both specific to one of the panelists or generally to all three.  Certain questions that were ask were then asked of the person who presented the question.  The question and answered period seemed to be quite interactive as well among the the audience as discussions were pursued.
