Semi-Charmed Kind of Life Summer Reads: August 2016 Update

I managed to finish the last book in time to complete what I could for this summer reading book club.  Some of the books that I didn’t get around to reading may end up on the list for the next round if I haven’t read them by them. It definitely had me reading books that I may not have read or consider how I pick books that isn’t just based on cover or recommendations. The categories would be great topics of conversation with friends to get book recommendations as well.

Here’s my update on the books I completed in August:

  1. In an Unlikely Event by Judy Blume (Completed: August 6, 2016)
  2. The Iron King by Maurice Druon (Completed: August 30, 2016)

As you can see in the image, you’ll see the total points so far. I’ll be posting next week what my thoughts were regarding the above books so check back then.

I started this book at the end of July but didn’t finish:

  1. Uncommon Grounds: The History of Coffee and How it Transformed Our World by Mark Pendergrat

I found this book so boring in its presentation of the facts that I couldn’t continue. I’ve read other factual books that were on similarly interesting subjects and presented the facts in a more pleasing and less boring way.
