Summary: This is a collection of ten short stories by Alice Munro. The characters in each story experience complex and difficult events and emotions which inform the ways they accommodate and rise above their situations.

My Thoughts: I was reading this book for a book club and really hadn’t research what it was about or realized that it was a collection of short stories.  Had I known it was short stories by the same author, I think I wouldn’t have read it like a novel.  It was difficult to separate each story as a stand-alone especially when written by the same author. I have read short story collections but the stories themselves were written by several authors rather just one.

It was definitely well written and really enjoyed some stories better than others.  I might have to re-read some of these stories on their own.
