Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy

One of my colleagues had mentioned the Hart House Theatre in one of our conversations and how much she enjoyed the plays the theatre has put on.  So I thought I’d check out what was playing. There was, at the time I checked online, two or three shows still left for the 2012 / 2013 season.  Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy seemed like something fun to see.

Robin Hood is a Canadian-made musical, developed by the director and members of Halifax’s Shakespeare by the Sea in 2005.  Hart House Theatre’s production runs til January 26, 2013.  The cost of a ticket was reasonable at $25 per adult (student and senior tickets are $15) and the theatre was small enough that anywhere would seem like a good place to sit.  I managed to get a front row seat.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show as it was very entertaining and mostly funny.  Everyone in the audiences seemed to enjoy it too with many scenes getting the audience laughing.  A few scenes, I thought, were a little silly but it only added to the entertainment.
