You can read about my few days in Amsterdam here on my travels down to Kenya.
I spent one week in Kenya, which included some time in Nairobi and a few days on safari. I’ve split up what I did over the course of the week in three parts – Part 1 and Part 2 are my exploration of Nairobi and Part 3 is the safari.
My aunt and I spent a few days on a safari in Masai Mara National Reserve. It was about a six hour drive or so from Nairobi and we left the hotel early in the morning with a couple short stops along the way.
It a nice drive for most of the way before it became bumpy during the last leg of the drive before entering the park. Once we arrived at where we were staying we had a short break to settle in before heading out for our first game drive.
Over the course of a few days we had another two game drives (three in total while we there). We saw all the Big Five animals while we were there and it was pretty active wildlife with hippos walking around, hyenas hanging out, animals prancing around. It was such wonderful experience.
Once we left the Masai Mara, we were driven down to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride around the lake. Other than the birds we saw, there were other wildlife on the land surrounding the lake. It was a beautiful lake.
We drove further south on the way back to Nairobi and dropped off two people from our group at the hotel they were staying on continued on to Nairobi so we could catch our flight home the next morning.
