Summary: Zuri Benitez has lots of things to be proud of – pride in her community and neighbourhood, pride in her family and pride in her ethnic roots. But will she still be proud of the gentrifying neighbourhood she lives in?

The wealthy Darcy family moves in across the street from Zuri’s family and the drama begins. Zuri dislikes one of the two teenage boys, Darius, while her older sister, Janae, begins to fall for Darius’ brother Ainsley. Certain situations bring Zuri and Darius together to find common ground and their understanding of each other.?

My thoughts: I really enjoyed this novel. It had some elements of the original Pride and Prejudice but felt it was different enough to stand on it’s own. I loved that it was set in mordern times and reflected changing neighbourhoods common to large cities along with clashes that can happen among the classes within neighbourhoods. This coupled with the love story added to my enjoyment of this novel.?
