Summary: The Chrysalids is set in a rural community where the true breeding is less than fifty per cent.  With rules established by the government and enforced by local authorities and preachers, deviations from the true breed are rooted out and destroyed as offences and abominations. David Storm and a few others in his community discover they have a secret ability that is undetectable by the norms of their society.  As they grow older, it becomes increasingly difficult to have their deviation remain hidden and they begin a difficult journey together to hold onto their secret.

My Thoughts: This is the third time I’ve read this book – I read first read The Chrysalids for a high school English class and the second time I read may have been just after I completed university. Now that several years have passed, the third time reading The Chrysalids was still enjoyable.
