Elizabeth is Missing Book Talk

I’m a member of a few book clubs in the Toronto, one of which is The Girly Book Club. The books read aren’t the typical girly books and it’s a varied selection. I don’t always get the chance to attend the book club but do sometimes read the book of the month.

I hadn’t attended the meeting in a really long time and last week was the first meeting I’ve attended all year. This meeting was special one as the book club had made special arrangements with an author, Emma Healey, to speak about her new book, Elizabeth is Missing.

Emma was a lovely young author who spoke about her process in writing her novel, the background she has, and read a portion of her book. I haven’t read the book yet but it sounded really good. The book is about Maud, a grandmother who is starting to lose her memory, and how she and her family is adjusting.

I enjoyed the discussions with the author and will definitely be reading the book soon.
