Snowshoeing in High Park

In a quest to do more winter activities, I found a group deal for snowshoeing guided walk in Toronto.  The company that hosts these tours among other winter and summer activities, Toronto Adventures, seemed reasonably priced without the group deal.

As the Toronto Adventures’ guide walks were at several locations in Toronto and outside of the city, I went with the walk through High Park.  It was easier for me to get to without a car and by TTC. There were probably at least 20 of us in the group that went out Thursday evening. So complete with our snowshoes provided by Toronto Adventures and our two young guides, we set off from Tim Hortons across from the entrance to High Park. At the entrance, we put on our snow shoes and were given a brief intro to snowshoeing and a mini-lesson on walking with the shoes on.

There wasn’t a whole lot of snow on the ground but still enough to enjoy the 1 hour 45 minute walk through High Park.  Super fun and a great leg work out through the park. I definitely would do this again and maybe even try some of the other winter activities.
