Summary: AWOL: Tales for Travel-Inspired Minds is a collection of short travel pieces from writers from across Canada.  Jennifer Barclay and Amy Logan, who put this collection together, created this book around travelling out of the regular circumstances.  The pieces offer a different perspective to the reader. The writers contributed unpublished true tales of their travels and the senses that moved and inspired them.

My thoughts: It was great to read different travel pieces in one book.  As they were short pieces, I felt it was a welcome break in between other books and articles I was reading.  They were also short enough to get through on the shorter bus rides around the city.  At the end of each piece, there were short few sentences about the author which included books or articles they’ve written, where they live in Canada.  I have since added a few more books to my reading list and noticed others I had already read.
