A new culinary arts program is being offered at her high school with a trip to Spain – Emoni knows she can’t afford the trip, let alone have time to put into the culinary arts program. But it’s Emoni’s dream to cook professional and although is trying follow everyone’s expectations, she finds that her talent needs to break free.
My Thoughts: With the Fire on High was a such a wonderful read. It was an enjoyable storyline with beautiful descriptions and characters. It reminded me of Laura Esquivel’s Like Water for Chocolate – both novels showcased the love of food and cooking with the infusion of the main character’s feelings and the choices she was making into her recipes. The novel also included a couple recipes which I’ll have to try. I’ll definitely be reading the author’s other books.
