This post was divided into three parts. You can read about Part 1 here.
The next full day was spent in Paris exploring other parts of the city. We went to the Saint Chappelle Cathedral which had some amazing and stunning stained glass windows. It was a cathedral built in seven years. It neighbours the Notre Dame Cathedral which we walked by to see how the reconstruction was going.
From the cathedrals, we walked over to the Louvre Museum after picking up our tickets and headsets. The Louvre was one of my must dos while I was in Paris as it was closed the first I visited. We spent the morning and good chunk of the afternoon in the museum and looked at all the good art ands sculptures including standing in line to see the Mona Lisa.
After the museum, my aunt had to leave to do some other things while she pointed me to Le Marais neighbourhood to look around in for the remainder of the afternoon. I got a few other pointers to check out on the stroll.
On the way to the AirBnB experience I booked, I walked to the Luxembourg Gardens. It was so pretty to sit and relax in for a little while. I also checked out a couple bookstores that were close by to the gardens. The AirBnB experience was also good – it was a dinner by a local chef. It was such delicious food that was shared with 2 other ladies as well.
The second time day trip was to Mont Saint Michel. It was so magical when we arrived and was walking towards the island that the monastery / village sat on. Our guide, Isabelle, explained the history of the area and the island on our drive. This was in addition to the audio guide we listened to while we roamed around the monastery. It was really nice to get this little bit of history and views of the mainland and of the island.
