The Selection (Book 1)

Summary: The Selection is set in a dystopian world where there is a rigid caste system.  For a select thirty-five girls, there is a chance of a lifetime to move out of their natural caste to live in a palace and compete for the prince. America Singer, the leader character, has been selected and requires to make some harsh choices including turning her back on her secret love Aspen in order to compete for the crown.

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a nice lighter read and was definitely a page turner. I picked this book up based on the Young Adulting Podcast. The characters weren’t that hard to get to know and read. There weren’t any surprises or twists and turns. We’ll see how the remaining books in the series turn out.
