Summary: Vianne and Isabelle, sisters that couldn’t be more different, try to maintain their close relationship despite the second world ware starting. The war progresses and the sisters’ personal strengths and their relationship are tested. They find themselves faced with many frightening challenges and they respond in ways they never though possible.
My Thoughts: I absolutely loved this story. I did get really into the novel and loved that it didn’t focus too heavily on a love story. It seemed to be well rounded and moved fairly easily between the characters and their storylines. I didn’t find it too heavy either given the subject matter and being set in World War 2.
