Summary: The Girl on the Train is told mostly from Rachel’s perspective and she is the girl on the train. Every morning, Rachel commutes into London on the same train. The train ride allows Rachel to glimpse into some of the cozy suburban homes and imagine what life would be life. One home she routinely sees the same couple breakfasting on their deck. Rachel imagines their names as “Jess and Jason” and she thinks their life is perfect, or is it?
My Thoughts: I thought the novel was an okay read and not sure if it was due to my comparison to Gone Girl or the advertising it was getting. Overall, I liked the concept of the story and the delivery was average. It did have me guessing but I wasn’t at the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next.
