Summary: Me Before You is about a young woman, Louise Clark, who lives in a small British town. Louise’s goals don’t reach beyond her comfort zone outside of the small town until she meets Will. Will used to lead an exciting, adventurous life until an accident left him paralyzed and seriously depressed. Louise loses her job at a local café and is hired by Mrs. Traynor to be Will’s caregiver and lift his spirits. Louise is a tenacious and endearing young woman who blossoms into her own with Will at her side as the relationship blossoms.
My Thoughts: I thought this novel was just ok. The first half of the book was great and interesting but the second half of the book was a bit boring. The characters and overall storyline was typical for this genre of book so it left no surprises for me. I do think it was great for the beach as it’s a lighter read and didn’t delve into depth for some of the decisions presented in the novel. Those decisions, although glossed over and depressing, could have made a really good book.
