My thoughts: The stories collected for this book provided a wide range of experiences of New York and great insight into living in the city during the 1980s, 1990s and more recent decades. I enjoyed reading the varying social statuses of each author sharing a unique perspective on the city.  Some were native New Yorkers living the successful lifestyle to enjoy the city fully while other authors shared their poorer ways of life to accommodate trying to be successful.
