Summary: The Fault in Our Stars tells the story of a 16-year girl, Hazel who has terminal cancer. She is also home schooled and attends weekly support group meetings. Her life seems as normal as can be with terminal cancer until she meets Augustus at a support group meeting. Hazel’s life is about to change as she gets to know Augustus Waters, a new 17-year old boy who appears at her support group meeting.
My Thoughts: I thought it was really well written. Considering it was about young people who have cancer, I was expecting the typical story of a young person wanting to start some charity or want to achieve something great in their life to be remembered. It was mostly the opposite which was a great to read. Conversations between the characters seemed to be typical of today which made the story a little bit more real.
