Summary: A dead body is discovered in the woods of near the small village of Three Pines, Quebec. The mysterious death summons Chief Inspector Armand Gamache and his colleagues from the Surete du Quebec to investigate. It is not clear why Jane Neal, the beloved artist and neighbour, was found dead. The Chief Inspector begins closely watching the residents of Three Pines for its dark secrets.
My Thoughts: This was a good recommendation from a staff member of my local Chapters in the Manulife Centre. I was looking through the mystery section when this particular staff member stopped by to recommend this book. I did really enjoy reading it and wasn’t a typically mystery novel. It wasn’t easy to guess who committed the crime and was well worth the read.
