International Festival of Authors

I attended a reading that was part of the International Festival of Authors.  The festival takes place at the Harbourfront Centre every fall and has been occurring for the last 34 years. Among the several readings that take place through the week, there are also interviews, writing sessions, galas and other events.  This year was the first time I decided to check out the schedule and attend at least one event during the one week festival.

The event I went to included the following five authors reading an excerpt of their latest works:

1. Jami Attenberg who read from her book The Middlesteins

2. Tom Barbash read from his book The Last Good Chance

3. Catherine Bush and her book Accusations

4. Beatriz Hausner read several snippets from her book Enter the Racoon

5. Kim Scott and his book That Deadman Dance

Out of the books the authors showcased at this reading, I’d be most interested in reading The Middlesteins, Accusations, and That Deadman Dance.
