A few weeks ago I attended a book talk at The Japan Foundation, Toronto. Amanda Sun, who wrote the book Ink, was giving a talk and introducing her book. You can read about Ink here.
The talk was interesting. Not only was it about her book, Ms. Sun also spoke about her experience as a non-Japanese young women living in Japan during a student exchange. Some of these experiences were incorporated into developing her storyline for Ink and the remaining two books in the trilogy.
The author also spoke about her introduction to Japanese culture and mythology and how she subsequently started learning Japanese. All of the a live happened prior to leaving for Japan.
All In All the book talk was fascinating and was good introduction to her book as well as to Japan.
