This month is a busy month with Doors Open and Jane’s Walks happening. ROM Walks are also starting up and will run through the summer.
I’ve participated in a few Jane’s Walks before as seen here, here, and here. They are fun, informative, and great to enjoy being a tourist in your own city. This year the walks are taking place the weekend of May 4 and 5 and there are several to choose from. I’ve already skimmed through the list and picked out a few to do.
Doors Open Toronto, which is taking place on May 25 and 26, is also a great event to roam around buildings or parts of buildings not always available to the public. I’ve seen some fantastic buildings while volunteering as a guide or just walking through as a regular participant. It’s a wonderful learning experience and exposure to parts of the city I’ve not seen before.
The ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) holds walks through the summer. I’ve not done one before but I’ve picked a couple I’d like to do. The ROM usually has a few walks that are on rotation so if you miss one it most likely will happen again later on in the summer.
