Summary: Night Circus is a debut novel describing competition between two young magicians. Beyond the smoke and mirrors of this competition, the two magicians, Celia and Marco, must use their powers of illusion to best the other.
The circus is developed around their abilities and showcases the best of their illusions. Wherever it arrives, it appears overnight and without warning. This circus is awe inspiring and provides a unique experience to those who are willing to lose themselves among the maze of black and white striped tents, lush gardens, and other wonderments.
Unknown to the young magicians, the competition is a duel to the death and the circus is just the stage for their battle of imagination, illusion, and will.
My thoughts: It was a good book to read and a lot more captivating. Also, Night Circus was a lot more imaginative than I expected. After reading Water for Elephants, I was expecting same cheesy story line for The Night Circus. It was definitely a lot better and more intriguing as it was not focusing on the love story. The focus was on the art of developing and maintaining the circus.
