Summary: Nina Dean has everything going for her – she owns her own apartment, is a published author, has an active social life and has a great relationship with her ex-boyfriend. Although Nina is ok with being single, she decides to download a dating app and ends up meeting a great guy, Max, on her first date.
Eventually, Max ghosts Nina which forces her to deal with the other major life events she’s ignored: her father’s Alzheimer’s is getting worse and her mother is denying it; a new book idea isn’t sitting well with her editor; and her best friend from childhood is phasing her out. Can Nina move past Max’s ghosting? Can she deal with her other life happenings?
My Thoughts: This was a delightful novel that was nicely paced. Although there were parts of the novel I wished the author focused more on, I thought the character’s flaws moved through the storyline quite well. The hard topics were dealt with really well and allowed for humour to lighten up the mood when it was needed. Overall, it was a good book to read.
